The teachers and the professional experts together developed a varies of curriculums which named The Curriculum for Colorful life. And here go the class aim.

To develop scholarliness as a habit of mind BEYOND the achievements of scholarship: by cultivating in each pupil a passion for learning and nurturing academic rigour; thorough, critical and accurate, we expect the pupils to be articulate, independent and motivated by curiosity and a thirst for discovery and knowledge.

To develop the attitude of reaching BEYOND the classroom and across a borderless world: by growing the perspectives of pupils through varied and wide experiences outside the curriculum, and building the skills needed to innovate and respond to change and progress.

To develop a strong sense of compassion and resolve that looks BEYOND self: by developing an enduring community spirit driven by the urge to serve society and nation, the moral integrity to do what is right, and the maturity to be a responsible citizen and leader.

The following are the principles that govern the differentiation of the curriculum to respond to the needs of learners.

Development of methodology or production skills essential to the practitioner of the discipline.

Extends beyond the core curriculum in depth and complexity

Provides areas of study traditionally not in the regular scope of study

●The reorganized semesters

Here we divided the 6 semesters in 3 years into 12 shorter semesters and 6 disposable semesters. During the 12 shorter semesters, students are intended to study the courses that are prepared by school, while during the 6 disposable semesters, students are allowed to make plans by themselves, meanwhile they are encouraged to decide to move on or take a short break to go for traveling with the company of the teachers or stay at school to do more efforts in the subjects they are not so good at. This is aimed to develop students’ abilities of self-management.

●The optional class system

Unlike nearly most of the schools inChina, we break the tradition that all the students stay in the same class for the whole 3 years. InPaoTongshuMiddle School, the teachers stay in the class while the pupils move to different classrooms to have their different lessons. The classrooms are decorated by the teachers and students with their own style which is more delightful for the students to study in. The students are the owners of their class, they choose the most suitable class of their own, which gets them more motivated and engaged in their study.

●The small class education

It is commonly known that the size of the class inChinais large for around 50 to 60 students in each class in middle school, we all can figure out that the communication between teachers and students become weak. Moreover, if a large number of students in class, the individual differences between students should be greater. Then, teacher will manage the class difficulty. For students, learning in large classes, discussion and communication rate will be reduced.  Lack of group discussion, this is not conducive to student interest in learning. Conversely, when fewer than 30 students in the class, students can conduct seminar which could discuss academic issues in a timely manner, and given their point of view. 

PaoTongshuMiddle schoolhave very small classes, the size of each class is about 30 students each class. The small class education is an effective way to teach students in accordance with their aptitude.  Compared with the traditional large-class teaching, in teaching time, as class size reduction, the workload of teachers should be reduced.  They would have a lot of time to analyze the personality characteristics of students for individual instruction.  Admittedly, small class teaching can take a variety of teaching methods to stimulate student interest in acquiring knowledge and skills. 

●The evaluation

Unlike the traditional evaluation in Chinese schools, we focus more on the process evaluation than any other schools inChengdu. The evaluation on the students in made up of 2 parts, the process evaluation (40%) and the summative evaluation (60%). School make very strict evaluating system to lead the students to focus more on their study behaviors, the way they study and help them develop great habits of learning.

●The tutors

We don’t have headmasters in each class but we do have tutors for students, each tutor is in charge of around 13 students who will guide the students to develop better. They will offer help in students’ study, mental problems and some other fields. The tutors are also the link of the school and the families, we have a strong connection with the families and we benefit a lot from our supportive parents.
